Aquaculture Education for elementary students

This masthead photo shows a typical catfish farm.  Aquaculture, the farming of aquatic plants and animals, has much to offer as a topic for learning.  Concepts in science, social studies, math and language arts all can be taught in a lesson related to this unique form of agriculture.  Please feel free to use any and all parts of the accompanying lessons -- or expand on them as you wish. 

 

This program was initiated to fill a void in agricultural education for young learners.  The first in the series targets students near the second grade level.  Based on feedback and need, we will develop additional lessons.  Choose the link to select the first of the series:
